If \fBlclogsplit\fR receives a \fI\s-1SIGHUP\s0\fR signal, all open log files are closed, the map file is re-read, and log files re-opened. This is important for rotation tools like \fBlogrotate\fR\|(8).

This is usually used when running via \fIApache httpd\fR. If the named pipe does not exist, lclogsplit writes directly into access.log files. When the named pipe is created or deleted later, lclogsplit automatically switches output from log files to named pipe (and back).

The map file contains the mapping between the virtual hosts and the customers' log file names. The map file is automatically generated by LiveConfig.

The statistics file contains live statistics from the parsed log file (eg. traffic & hit counters for each customer). This file is generated every 60 seconds from \fBlclogsplit\fR and parsed by the LiveConfig Client.

The status file is used to remember the last read position from log files (see option \fB\-f\fR). This file is created when lclogsplit exits, and is read on start to continue parsing log files from the last position. If the current log file is smaller than the last read position, a log rotation is assumed and the file is being read from start.
